Prebiotics are the non-digestible fibers that fuel the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut, while probiotics are live microorganisms that provide a health benefit when consumed in substantial amounts. Probiotics can be found in fermented foods such as yogurt, kimchi, sauerkraut, kefir, and kombucha. Consuming these foods regularly can help boost the diversity of the gut microbiome, leading to a more robust immune system and better overall health.

In conclusion, the gut microbiome is a crucial part of the immune system, and good nutrition plays an essential role in maintaining optimal gut health. By eating a balanced diet rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and fermented foods, we can support the growth of beneficial bacteria in our gut.
